MusicBridge 3.0 Progress

Don't get too excited but I have added a couple of features to MusicBridge 3.0

- The ability to sync an iTunes and WMP library that are in two physical locations. For this scenario they still must be pointed to by WMP and iTunes on the same machine, but they can be at two different paths.

- The ability to do as above but also for different file extensions. Let's say all your WMP files are .mp3 and all iTunes are .m4a, you can now sync them.

- Playcount merge. This one is a little tricky, so this is what I have done. I have added a funtion in both directions that will ADD the source track palycount to the destination track playcount and then RESET the source track playcount to zero.

Basically now I need to get the big feature that allows a disconnected (cross machine) sync to work and I think MusicBridge 3 may be done. Of course it has taken me a couple of years to do this, but I really am interested in getting version 3 out.

As ever I would like to hear of any other functionality you guys want.

hey, I just tried out music bridge, and didn't have much look as I use a networked drive location. So itunes uses t:\music whilst wmp uses \\networkdrive\music

Is there any way of getting round this, or developing a tool in future that you can manually enter the music locations into music bridge program, so it knows to match \\network to T:\ ?

thanks,
kev

Hi James,
Will the version 3.0 also support iTunes 9 and win7/WMP12?

I'm using 2.0.1 with iTunes 9 and WMP12 and it's working great! Keep up the good work man, it's certainly appreciated.

As far as new features... the only thing that I'm kinda missing is scheduled synchronization. I think it would be great for people who are constantly adding new music to maybe let MusicBridge run in the background and do its thing on a regular basis. Otherwise, great program!

Are you offering beta downloads of the 3.0 version yet?

Any word on version 3.0?

Hi James,

Love Music bridge, fab piece of code ! As I import all music firstly into iTunes and as WAV files a lot of stuff does not have artwork and you can't easily add it as it's imported as a WAV file. Any chance of adding a feature to Music Bridge that if artwork is missing it is found and added into WMP 12 ?

Hey James, looking forward to testing version 3. Good luck with getting that disconnected sync to work.

Hi, MusicBridge looks promising, I get an error when I try to do anything on mine. It's on 64-bit XP. Any chance that will be included?

Where are you at with this now?

Great software, thanks for making it available. I use it all the time.
The only additional functionality I'd like to see added is the syncing of 'last played' dates. Alway fun to look back at tracks you haven't listened to in a while. Anyway, thanks again!

My main library is the WMP library. Most of my songs are in losless WMA format, so when I import them in itunes, it converts them to mp3. However, the ratings are not converted and I want to use the ratings to make some playlists. Musicbridge also fails to match the wma with the converted mp3 file. If you could add this feature in version 3.0, that would be awsome!

Anyone reading this? iTunes 10 causes musicbridge (and other similar apps) to crash :(. This really sucks since I rely so heavily on musicbridge and the upgrade destroyed all of my playlist and ratings. Any chance you are working on a new version?
